Solar photovoltaic (PV) panels on your roof will be supplying you with at least 70% of all the electricity used by an average family home in the summer and at least 50% in the winter. These conditions are dependent on the correct sizing of the panels and the location of the panels facing sunlight. These systems operate with energy from the solar panel that is then taken to an inverter; this is then transferred into electricity to power your home.

Solar panels for heating; a pipe is run from the solar panel with a special fluid which transfers energy from the solar panel via a pump to the hot water cylinder. The energy is then exchanged in the hot water cylinder and then the sub cooled fluid returns to the solar panel and the process cycle starts again. The advantage of this system is that you will be using a complete renewable energy source, thus less reliant on using a gas/oil boiler to heat your water. More energy and cost efficient!
